Entry Requirements for Postgraduate Programmes
Postgraduate Diploma in Electronics Engineering and Information Technology
Advanced diploma or equivalent in Engineering in relevant field from a recognised college, or a pass degree in Engineering in the relevant field from a recognized University
MSc. in Computer Science
The minimum admission qualification is Lower Second Class in BSc. degree in Informatics or related discipline from a recognized University, or a Postgraduate Diploma in Informatics or related discipline.
MSc. in Health Informatics
The minimum admission qualification is Lower Second Class in BSc. degree in Informatics or related discipline or BSc. degree in Health Sciences or related qualifications, with an overall grade of B or higher. In addition, a minimum of one year work experience is required.
MSc. in Information System Management
- Direct Entry Qualification: An undergraduate degree in Information Systems Management or a related field from a recognized institution with at least a Lower Second class with GPA of at least 2.7 out of 5.
- Equivalent Entry Qualification: Advanced Diploma in relevant and respective field with at least Lower Second Class award OR Undergraduate Degree with at least a pass in related field PLUS a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant and respective field from a recognized institution certified by TCU with at least an Upper Second Class award (GPA of at least 3.5 out of 5).
MSc. in Computer and IT Systems Engineering
- Direct Entry Qualification: UQF Level 8 with background in IT related undergraduate Programmes or Electrical Engineering related Programmes which include IT courses with at least a Second Class degree with minimum GPA of at least 2.7 out of 5 from a respected institution recognized by TCU or equivalent.
- Equivalent Entry Qualification: A Postgraduate Diploma in IT related Programmes or Electrical Engineering related Programmes which includes IT courses from a respected institution recognized by TCU or equivalent with at least an upper second class B+ award with minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 5. Candidates with equivalent qualifications must also possess at least Ordinary Secondary School certificate with principal passes in Physics and Mathematics.
PhD in; Computer Science/Computer Engineering and IT/Health Informatics
The student should be a holder of relevant Master degree of the University of Dar es Salaam or any other recognized and accredited University.
PhD in Computer and IT Systems Engineering
The student should satisfy the general University minimum requirements plus the following additional requirements: Master’s degree in IT related Programmes which includes IT courses with at least an Upper Second Class degree with minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 5.0 from a respected institution recognized by TCU or equivalent.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Telecommunications Engineering or in Electronics Engineering and Information Technology
The minimum qualification for admission to the programme is a relevant Masters degree from the University of Dar es Salaam or any other recognized institution.
