Technologies for Health Information Management System

Project duration 2013 – 2017, it is funded by NORAD – University of Oslo, Jhpiego, Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), RTI International, Ministry of Health, Measure Evaluation

Our experts have designed and implemented various integrated solutions for health information management system. Examples of the projects implemented covering all health facilities, LGAs, districts and regions in Tanzania include the Integrated National e-Health Architecture Platform (DHIS2) accessible at and Human Resource for Health Information System (HRHIS) accessible at DHIS2 Touch Mobile Application has also been developed and implemented that allows remote data collection by using Smart phone or tablet, this facilitates offline remote health data collection. The Health Management Information System (HMIS) Web Portal also has been designed to analyze and present aggregate health information for use by wide range of stakeholders to increase their participation in the policy analysis and dialogue and in monitoring and evaluation of the health system for better improvement. Mobile Application for Diseases Surveillance: – A component of DHIS2, project period 2007 – 2016. Funded by NORAD through University of OSLO. Provided scholarships to 32 MSc. candidates from 2007 - 2012

The purpose is that the mobile communication technology is used to build the surveillance and response system known as The Electronic Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response System (e-IDSR) was developed and applied in Tanzania as an alternative approach to traditional paper-based systems
