Dr. Juma Lungo joined the University of Dar es Salaam in 2003 as a member of the academic staff. He completed a B.Sc. in Computer Science degree in 2000 from the University of Dar es Salaam. He obtained both his M.Sc. and PhD in Information Systems at the University of Oslo, Norway in 2003 and 2008 respectively. His PhD research area was on Open Source Software Information Systems. After the PhD studies, Lungo has pioneered implementation of many Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) projects. In 2016, he championed the establishment of Tanzania Data Lab (dLab) and served as the first Manager of the dLab. dLab is a data hub that enables data availability and use to become more prominent in Tanzania to support evidence based decision making and pragmatic planning across sectors. As a lecturer, Dr. Lungo teaches Software Engineering, Database Systems and Information Systems. He has published extensively on Information Systems, Data Science, Mobile computing and GIS. He has supervised several Masters and PhD students to completion and has served as an external examiner and as opponents to PhD defenses. Outside the classroom, Lungo is a web application programmer, Linux systems administrator and Systems analyst, and holds a Patent for inventing the Online Student Academic Register Information System (SARIS) code named Zalongwa.

Dr. Ndyetabura Yahaya Hamisi is a Lecturer in Computer Engineering & Information Technology (CE&IT) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, College of Computer Engineering and Information Technologies. He completed his first degree in B.Eng - Electrical and Electronics at the University of Mysore – India in 1990, Masters of Engineering degree at the University of Dar es Salaam in 1999 to 2003, and PhD in CE&IT at University of Dar es Salaam in 2008 to 2014. He worked in the Ministry of Works/Infrastructure Development Electrical&Mechanical/TEMESA from 1990 specializing in Electrical and Electronics works, then he was transferred to the University of Dar es Salaam in 2005 as an Assistant Lecturer, to teach, do research and carry out consultancy services. Dr. Ndyetabura teaches courses in CE&IT program for Undergraduate and Post Graduate Courses. He has also supervised a number of post graduate students, and participated in a number of academic research. His main research interest are in smart/intelligent transport systems, grids and cities. He is currently a College Undergraduate Program Coordinator. Dr. Ndyetabura is also a member of societal and professional bodies. He is a registered engineer by engineer’s registration board (erb) from 1988, Member of Institute of Engineers Tanzania from 1990, Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE) from 2007, Co-opted erb board member from 2010.
